McDonald’s Hot Coffee Burn Lawsuit

!!! FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE !!!

SANDY SPRINGS RESIDENT SUFFERS SEVERE THIRD-DEGREE BURNS AT MCDONALD’S DUE TO GROSS NEGLIGENCE AT SANDY SPRINGS LOCATION

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — February 17, 2026 — A formal legal action is brewing against McDonald’s Corporation following a catastrophic incident on August 6, 2025, at 6049 Roswell Rd, which left a customer with permanent physical disfigurement and severe psychological trauma.

At approximately 10:15 a.m., the victim visited the drive-thru specifically requesting only sugar and creamer. Despite explicit instructions, a McDonald’s employee forced a scalding hot cup of coffee onto the victim, insisting they take it because it was “already made.”

The beverage—served at a dangerously high temperature and filled to the brim—was handed over with a compromised, insecure lid. As the victim attempted to secure the unwanted drink, the lid failed, discharging the boiling liquid directly onto their leg. The victim suffered agonizing pain as the liquid burned through their clothing, resulting in third-degree burns.

The victim’s immediate plea for help was met with shocking indifference. Management at the Sandy Springs location exhibited a complete lack of urgency, failed to provide standard first aid, and reportedly issued a fraudulent receipt to obfuscate the transaction record. Rather than addressing the medical emergency occurring on their premises, management dismissed the victim, instructing them to “call corporate.”

The victim was rushed to the Emergency Room and has since been referred to a plastic surgeon for permanent scarring. The severity of the injuries points to a systemic failure by McDonald’s to adhere to safe serving temperatures—a known hazard the corporation has been warned about for decades.

“This was not an accident; it was a sequence of avoidable failures,” says a Legal Representative for the victim. “From forcing a product on a customer they did not order to serving a liquid at temperatures capable of destroying human skin in seconds, McDonald’s has shown a flagrant disregard for human safety. We will be seeking maximum damages for the pain, suffering, and permanent scarring caused by this gross negligence.”
